The make-or-break decade

The make-or-break decade has already started. Making Europe the first climate neutral continent in the world: this is the goal that we are set to accomplish. Our first major milestone down this ambitious path will be a 55% reduction of emissions by 2030. The decade we have entered will be crucial.

District heating is named the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to satisfy future heat demand, growing from current 13% to 50% by 2050. This transition calls for a higher degree of optimisation and governance to automatically control the energy demand in all parts of the heating system. Financially sustainable and climate-friendly District Heating will inevitably require an interconnected and smart network.

The energy sector is part of the new economy. And the new economy presupposes new business models. The energy industry needs to accelerate the use of renewable energy sources, which calls for a higher degree of control and governance. To cope with this transformation, energy companies must be in control of the entire value chain and be able to automatically optimise the energy needs in all parts of the energy system. If we manage this, there are operational, financial and environmental gains to be made – both for the energy companies and for their customers. But to get there, energy-optimised energy systems are required.

To achieve energy optimisation, three basic components are needed; access to data from different systems, access to algorithms that can process and analyse this data and integrations that enable systems and algorithms to interact. The integrations make it possible to act and react to the analyses that the algorithm provides. Then you get an energy optimisation service.

To integrate these systems and algorithms quickly, securely and easily into commercial and scalable energy optimisation services, we have created Crossbreed Energy OS.
